A&E Dispatch | Mustache-growing fundraiser sprouts in Seattle, around U.S.
A&E Dispatch: The third Mustache-a-thon fundraiser is going on, leading up to the Mustache Rocks! Music Showcase and soiree, happening at 9 p.m. November 21 at the Sunset Tavern. It all supports 826 Seattle a nonprofit writing center serving students ages 6 to 18.

Mustache bearers and those that aspire to be one — 826 Seattle is looking for you. The group's third Mustache-a-thon fundraiser approaches, and those with follicle potential should apply.
Participants are challenged to go six weeks without shaving to raise money for 826 Seattle, a nonprofit writing center serving students aged 6 to 18. The goal this year is to raise $20,000.
The first fundraiser raised $10,000. And last year, the idea spread, with 826 centers around the country launching their own Mustache-a-thons, with 33 growing upper lips.
The hair-growing period began Oct. 9 and culminates with a Mustache Rocks! Music Showcase and soiree, set for 9 p.m. Nov. 21 at the Sunset Tavern. Say Hi (formally Say Hi To Your Mom), Black Daisy and The Friedrich Nietzsche Memorial Jug Band will be performing. Tickets are $8 at the door.
