Smooth jazz, soothing surroundings at KWJZ music festival

The 11th Annual 98.9 FM KWJZ Music Festival at Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery features Nils, Marion Meadows, Wayman Tisdale, Crusaders, Janita, Blake Aaron, Boney James and Chris Botti.

Seattle Times staff reporter

This weekend is KWJZ-FM's (98.9) 11th annual Music Festival, which means two days of smooth jazz at the sedate, pristine Chateau Ste. Michelle in Woodinville. It is perhaps a perfect confluence of sounds and grounds.

Saturday performers are Nils, Marion Meadows, Wayman Tisdale and the Crusaders. Sunday has Janita, Blake Aaron, Boney James and Chris Botti, and is sold out, according to www.kwjz.com.

Saturday tickets range from $45 lawn tickets (think beach blanket and picnic gear) and $79.50 stage reserved tickets (sit up close in a chair and bring whatever can fit underneath) to $175 seats in the "Diversity Suite" (wine service and lunch in a tented area) and $200 "Golden Circle" seats (in front of the stage reserved area, includes a bottle of wine). Ticket information is at 206-628-0888 or www.ticketmaster.com; for other details, see www.stemichelle.com.
