Anita Baker plays McCaw Hall
...
Seattle Times arts critic
After cutting such pop hits as "Sweet Love" and "Body and Soul," Anita Baker took a long hiatus from touring. The ultrasultry singer raised her children, switched record labels, got into a legal tiff with ex-collaborator Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. But in recent years, the eight-time Grammy winner has put her career back on track, issuing a strong comeback album ("My Everything") and a popular 2005 Christmas disc ("Christmas Fantasy"). This Sunday she'll perform her first Seattle gig in a room as classy as her singing style: McCaw Hall. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, McCaw Hall, 321 Mercer St., Seattle Center; $52.50-$150 (206-628-0888 or www.ticketmaster.com).
