Tuesday's new DVD releases feature players, slayers and more. Star ratings are by Seattle Times movie reviewers, freelancers or wire services (for full reviews, search the movie title at seattletimes.com).
"Solitary Man" (R): This is Michael Douglas' movie, with him playing a 50-something former car salesman and relentless womanizer — "a man who has failed in Starburst colors."
"The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond" (PG-13): Jodie Markell's drama, based on a screenplay by Tennessee Williams, involves a saucy Southern heiress (Bryce Dallas Howard) who pays an unwealthy man (Chris Evans) to be her escort at parties.
"MacGruber" (R): Will Forte's "Saturday Night Live" sketch, a spoof of the TV show "MacGyver," is stretched out into a blood-spattered, feature-length comedy. Kristen Wiig, Ryan Phillippe and Val Kilmer co-star.
"Killers" (PG-13): Ashton Kutcher plays a buff CIA assassin who falls for a clumsy computer nerd (Katherine Heigl) in Robert Luketic's romantic action comedy.
