Homegrown feature films screen in SIFF's Northwest Connections program

SIFF's Northwest Connections program also includes six narrative features: "Bass Ackwards," "Dear Lemon Lima," "Morning," "The Penitent Man," "Perfect 10" and "Senior Prom."

"Bass Ackwards." Directed by former local Linas Phillips ("Walking to Werner"), this Seattle-to-New York road movie made its debut earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival. (May 21 and 23, Harvard Exit)

"Dear Lemon Lima." Filmed in Seattle, Los Angeles-based filmmaker Suzi Yoonessi's tale of a Native Alaskan teenage girl with an imaginary friend co-stars Oscar nominee Melissa Leo ("Frozen River"). (June 1-2, Neptune)

"Morning." A young married couple faces tragedy in Joseph Mitacek's made-in-Seattle debut feature. (June 5-6, Harvard Exit)

"The Penitent Man." Local filmmaker Nicholas Gyeney's science-fiction-flavored feature is the tale of a Seattle psychologist intrigued by the idea of traveling through time. (May 23-24, Egyptian)

"Perfect 10." Shot on Capitol Hill, Lindy and Kris Boustedt's debut feature depicts a woman attending her high-school reunion in the hopes of reconnecting with a first love. (June 7-8, SIFF Cinema)

"Senior Prom." In the tradition of Christopher Guest, Mountlake Terrace High School student Nicholas Terry's mockumentary uses improvisation to depict a group of teens facing the biggest night of the year. (May 28 and June 1, SIFF Cinema)
