Some thriller moves make it to DVD Tuesday, with the roller-derby flick "Whip It" and "Michael Jackson's This Is It." Star ratings are by Seattle Times movie reviewers, freelancers or wire services (for full reviews, search the movie title atseattletimes.com).
"Bright Star" (PG): Jane Campion's ode to poetry and young love stars Ben Whishaw as the poet John Keats and Abbie Cornish as his neighbor, Fanny Brawne.
"The Boys Are Back" (PG-13): The boys, in this family drama, are Clive Owen, George MacKay and Nicholas Mc-
Anulty — a father, teen and preschooler at different stages of growing up and moving on after a tragedy.
"Whip It" (PG-13): Drew Barrymore, in her feature directing debut, cranks up the girl power in this coming-of-age tale, about an unhappy teen (Ellen Page) who joins a roller-derby team.
"Michael Jackson's This Is It" (PG): Director Kenny Ortega cobbles together rehearsal footage of what was to be the King of Pop's farewell live performances.
"Little Ashes" (R): Paul Morrison's biographical drama rehashes the early years of painter Salvador Dalí (Robert Pattinson) and poet Federico García Lorca (Javier Beltrán).
"Surrogates" (PG-13): Bruce Willis and Radha Mitchell play FBI agents trying to solve a homicide in a future world where people have surrogates — robotic versions of themselves that they control from their homes.
"Saw VI" (R): The latest installment in the torture-porn series takes a stab at the insurance industry.
"I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell" (R): Three pals (Matt Czuchry, Jesse Bradford, Geoff Stults) go out for a night of depravity in this raunchy comedy based on a memoir by Tucker Max.
