Blue November MicroFilmFest plays in Greenwood Nov. 12-14

Look for filmmaking workshops amid the live entertainment and screenings at the Blue November MicroFilmFest in Seattle's Greenwood neighborhood.

The seventh annual Blue November MicroFilmFest promises more than film this year — among the live music acts will be filmmaking workshops, too.

Opening at 8 p.m. Thursday with tribal-fusion belly dancing by Essence Dance Company, the fest continues at 7 p.m. Friday and picks up again at 10 a.m. Saturday. It closes Saturday night with awards and a performance by Invisible Giants. Films from Seattle, Brazil, Canada, England and Germany will screen. Workshops will cover such subjects as The Role of Film Score, Homemade Filmmaking and Documentary Editing.

MicroFilmFest events will be held at The Upper Crust, 8420 Greenwood Ave., Seattle. Admission to all events is free. Information and a schedule: http://blue-november.com/stageVII14.html.
