New DVDs | 'Food, Inc.,' 'The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3,' 'G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra'
New DVDs being released Tuesday, Nov. 3, include "Food, Inc.," "The Answer Man," "The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3," "Aliens in the Attic" and "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra."
Saving the day on DVD: the military team of "G.I. Joe" and others. Star ratings are by Seattle Times movie reviewers, freelancers or wire services (for full reviews, search the movie title at seattletimes.com).
"Food, Inc." (PG): Robert Kenner's documentary tries to lift the veil on flaws in our food-safety system.
"The Answer Man" (R): Two complicated people (Jeff Daniels, Lauren Graham) find each other in John Hindman's rom-com.
"The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3" (R): Tony Scott's remake of the 1974 actioner — about the hijacking of a New York subway train — stars Denzel Washington and John Travolta.
"The Marc Pease Experience" (PG-13): Ben Stiller plays a high-school drama teacher and Jason Schwartzman a sweetly awkward 26-year-old who lives like he's still in high school.
"Aliens in the Attic" (PG): It's up to the kids to save Earth from alien intruders in this live-action/animated family film.
"G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" (PG-13): An elite military unit takes on an evil arms supplier in this actioner, with Channing Tatum, Marlon Wayans, Dennis Quaid and Sienna Miller.
"I Love You, Beth Cooper" (PG-13): Chris Columbus' teen comedy follows a nerd (Paul Rust) and a hottie (Hayden Panettiere) on graduation night.
