Silent Movie Mondays at the Paramount Theatre will continue — but without longtime organist Dennis James. Seattle Theatre Group, which operates the Paramount, announced last Friday that organist Jim Riggs would replace James for the two films then remaining on the four-film series.

James has been accompanying classic silent films on the theater's vintage Mighty Wurlitzer organ since 1998.

STG has also canceled its "Musica Curiosa" concert fundraiser, in support of the ongoing restoration of the Paramount organ. The benefit was to have taken place Sunday with James performing. Refunds are available at point of purchase.

An additional Silent Movie Mondays series has been announced for November, but an accompanist has not yet been named by STG. For more information on the series, which concludes with "Seventh Heaven" next Monday, see www.theparamount.com.
