"Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian," "Longshots" released on DVD this week
A weekly listing of new DVDs.
Here are some of today's DVD releases. Star ratings are by Seattle Times movie reviewers, freelancers or wire services (for full reviews, search seattletimes.com).
"The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" (PG): The sequel to "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" finds the Pevensie siblings (William Moseley, Georgie Henley, Anna Popplewell and Skandar Keynes) in the company of a new ally, Caspian (Ben Barnes), heir to the throne of Narnia, which has been hurled into dark times under a tyrannical ruler.
"The Longshots" (PG): Fred Durst's sports tale stars Ice Cube and Keke Palmer, as the first girl to play Pop Warner (pre-high school) football.
"Step Brothers" (R): Adam McKay's comedy imagines the arrested development of two 40-year-olds (Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly) suffering sibling rivalry after their single parents marry.
"Wanted" (R): Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy play assassins with superhuman abilities in Timur Bekmambetov's hyperviolent action-fantasy.
"The X-Files: I Want to Believe" (PG-13): A call from the FBI brings Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) back into the world of the paranormal in this second big-screen take on the creepy TV show.

"Frost/Nixon: The Original Watergate Interviews": This release comes before Ron Howard's drama, "Frost/Nixon," due in theaters Dec. 12.
