3.5 stars "The Band's Visit" (PG-13), Eran Kolirin's comedy/drama about music, unlikely friendship and finding a little bit of home in a faraway place. It follows the misadventures of an Arab military police band, which gets stranded in a small Israeli desert town. In Arabic, Hebrew and English.

3.5 stars "Shine a Light" (PG-13), Martin Scorsese's rock documentary on the Rolling Stones. Fans of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood should get plenty of satisfaction.
