DVDs released this week

A weekly listing of new DVDs.

Here are some of Tuesday's DVD releases. Star ratings are by Seattle Times movie reviewers, freelancers or wire services (for full reviews, go to www.seattletimes.com/movies).

3.5 stars "The Band's Visit" (PG-13), Eran Kolirin's comedy/drama about music, unlikely friendship and finding a little bit of home in a faraway place. It follows the misadventures of an Arab military police band, which gets stranded in a small Israeli desert town. In Arabic, Hebrew and English.

3.5 stars "Shine a Light" (PG-13), Martin Scorsese's rock documentary on the Rolling Stones. Fans of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood should get plenty of satisfaction.

2 stars "Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay" (R), the follow-up to 2004's comedy "Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle." This time the two stoner heroes (John Cho and Kal Penn) land in Gitmo, accused of terrorism. Directed by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg.

1 stars "Never Back Down" (PG-13), a teen martial-arts movie starring Sean Faris and Djimon Hounsou. Directed by Jeff Wadlow.
