DVDs released this week

Here are some of Tuesday's DVD releases. Star ratings are by Seattle Times movie reviewers, freelancers or wire services (for full reviews, go to www.seattletimes.com/movies).

3.5 stars"Before the Devil Knows You're Dead" (R), Sidney Lumet's New York tale of recklessness and ruin starring Philip Seymour Hoffman and Ethan Hawke as brothers who scheme to make easy money by robbing their parents' jewelry store.

3.5 stars "Juno" (PG-13), Jason Reitman's comedy/drama about a pregnant teen (Ellen Page, who earned a best-actress Oscar nomination) looking to find the perfect adoptive parents.

3.5 stars "Lars and the Real Girl" (PG-13), Craig Gillespie's comedy about the relationship between a man (Ryan Gosling) and a life-size doll. Bring on the "Knocked Up"- and "Superbad"-style dirty jokes, right? Wrong.

"A Passage to India" (unrated), the 1984 epic about a British woman whose misfortune on a cave-exploration trip leads to false accusations against an Indian man. The film, directed by David Lean ("Lawrence of Arabia"), stars Peggy Ashcroft, Judy Davis, Alec Guinness and Victor Banerjee.

"Aliens Vs. Predator: Requiem" (unrated), the science-fiction sequel to 2004's "Aliens Vs. Predator," resuming the clash of the space beasts, directed by Colin and Greg Strause.
