Report: Glimpse of Microsoft Internet Explorer 9

Posted by Sharon Pian Chan

Images of Microsoft's new Web browser show fewer buttons and menus, according to a report by Mary-Jo Foley on ZDNet.

On the All About Microsoft blog, Foley has an image from Microsoft Russia press site of a browser. It has a URL bar, a "back" and "forward" button, and room for tabs. The buttons for "home" and "favorite" look like they've been shrunken to small icons on the top right.

Microsoft plans to release the beta of Internet Explorer 9 in San Francisco on Sept. 15. The company has said the beta version will be ready for customers to download and use.

Here is a screenshot of the ZDNet posting, with the browser image.
