FAM: Top questions from analysts for Microsoft
Posted by Sharon Pian Chan
Microsoft's Financial Analysts Meeting kicked off this morning in Redmond. Bill Koefoed, general manager of investor relations, summed up the top 6 questions the company has been hearing from analysts:
1. What's going on with the business PC refresh cycle and how is Microsoft's market share?
2. What's the impact of iPads and slates on Microsoft?
3. What's the status of Windows Phone 7 and how is Microsoft going to make money?
4. How is the Online Services Division — as in Bing — doing and where is the opportunity?
5. What will cloud computing sales and margins look like?
6. How is the company doing on expense controls?
Coming up this morning and afternoon: Chief Operating Officer Kevin Turner, Chief Executive Steve Ballmer, Chief Research Officer Craig Mundie and Chief Financial Officer Peter Klein.
In past years the division presidents have also spoken as well, but they're not on the agenda today. I did spot two execs in the hallway: Microsoft Business division president Stephen Elop and Senior Vice President for Mobile Andy Lees.
