New test version of free Microsoft Security Essentials available
Posted by Sharon Pian Chan
A free test version of the new Microsoft Security Essentials is now available, the company said today.
Security Essentials is Microsoft's free anti-virus and security software for Windows users. The company is now testing the next version.
The beta is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis in the U.S., Israel and Brazil. You can download it here. You have to first sign in to Microsoft Connect to get the beta.
Apparently some users are having problems downloading it, according to Microsoft. If you have problems, check out the instructions on the company's blog on how to get around the problem.
