Windows 7 launch: The pent-up demand for PCs

Posted by Sharon Chan

NEW YORK -- I'm in New York to report on the launch of Windows 7 from Microsoft! I will be here for the rest of the week, staying to write about Microsoft's first quarter earnings announcement on Friday.

Today, several PC makers talked about how Windows 7 will run on their existing and new computers this year.

Lenovo announced two laptops aimed at business users, the ThinkPad SL410 and the Thinkpad SL510. The smaller one, the SL410, starts at $529.

Tom Tobul, the executive director of marketing for software, said he believes there's pent-up demand among business users for new PCs. Here is a brief video from my interview with Tobul about why he believes businesses will buy new PCs this year.
