Bringing the Fotolia cloud to Microsoft Word and Powerpoint

There's been a lot of talk about Microsoft Office moving into the cloud and starting Office Web Apps, a competitor to Google's Google Docs and other online offerings.

But there hasn't been a lot of talk about hybrid strategies that integrate wisps of the cloud into existing desktop software. Office is taking small steps, and here's an example of just announced from Fotolia, an online photo bank of 7 million royalty-free images.

Fotolia now has a plug-in for Microsoft Word and Powerpoint, so you can add images to Word documents and slideshow presentations directly from the toolbar. Download the add-in for Powerpoint or Word 2007 here.
