How much Razorfish, Windows Live and Microsoft Mobile Services make
Posted by Sharon Chan
Microsoft announced the financial impact of some reorganizational changes it made to some groups this morning, and gave some interesting detail on how much these businesses earned and lost. It looks like Razorfish, the digital ad agency that Microsoft just sold, lost money last year.
The Windows Live group, which includes Messenger, Hotmail and Skydrive, is moving from the Online Services group to the Windows group. Mobile Services is moving to the Entertainment and Devices group from the Online Services group.
Here is a link to Microsoft's slideshow that went with the call.
- Razorfish: In the 2009 fiscal year that ended on June 30, Razorfish lost $50 million on $360 million in sales.
- Windows Live: Windows Live lost $560 million on $520 million in sales.
- Microsoft Mobile Services: In 2009, Microsoft Mobile Services lost $50 million on $70 million in revenue.
