Microsoft's Worldwide Partners Conference kicks off ... and Web site crashes

Posted by Sharon Pian Chan

Microsoft's Worldwide Partners Conference kicked off this morning in New Orleans but the conference Web site, www.digitalwpc.com,has been down for the past three hours.

Microsoft's partner companies are responsible for 95 percent of the company's revenue, reselling, installing and building on Microsoft products. The Twitter stream is alive and well though, and Watson says #wpc09 is one of the top 10 most-trafficked topics online right now.

We ran a story today that sets up tomorrow's announcements on Microsoft's cloud product Azure, describing how Ethiopia is rolling out laptops to teachers usingMicrosoft's cloud platform.

If you want to catch the 2.5 hour keynotes this morning with Watson, Windows Senior Vice President Bill Veghte and Business division President Stephen Elop,it's below. Topics include Windows 7 and Office 2010.
