Lunchbreak: Jack Welch does reality videos for Microsoft Web ads
Posted by Sharon Chan
Jack Welch, former CEO of GE, and his wife, Suzy Welch, are doing a series of reality videos online for a Microsoft ad campaign. The first 30-minute video, which you can find below, features Welch holding an executive team meeting at rental car company Hertz, a business counseling session he calls a "workout." The team is trying to figure out how to make its Connect business, Hertz's competitor to Zipcar, successful.
The video is similar to the boardroom session at the end of each "Apprentice" episode, stretched out to 30 minutes, with Welchian quote gems throughout. The videos were made to promote Microsoft's business software, but the product placement is discreet.
