Robyn on SNL over the weekend: 'Call Your Girlfriend'

Posted by Andrew Matson

Swedish pop star Robyn performed "Call Your Girlfriend" on SNL over the weekend, and besides enjoying her dance moves, I appreciated anew how non-judgmental and humane the song is. Robyn's message is that sleeping with someone else is OK but you must MUST call your girlfriend first. And be nice. Tell her it's not her fault.

Basically, love is a battlefield and part of the deal is you have to come through with the medics and hold dying soldiers and tell them heaven is waiting.

And it's not about feeling bad. It's about R-E-S-P-E-C-T.

See her perform "Dancehall Queen" from three feet away at the Paramount a few months back here.

Wow, Robyn still makes music? I haven't seen or heard about her since the early 90s. She must be her mid 30s now.  Posted on December 13, 2011 at 5:00 PM by mistyjeanmoore. Jump to comment
SNL has had bad and good acts on for years. This was a bad one.  Posted on December 13, 2011 at 4:23 PM by mods are wrong. Jump to comment
Kids these days. That's the nice thing about being young - everything is shiny and new. To someone.  Posted on December 13, 2011 at 2:22 PM by Private Aye. Jump to comment
