"Zero or a Zillion" by Kimya Dawson (feat. Aesop Rock)
Olympia singer/songwriter Kimya Dawson will play music and have a public conversation with writer dream hampton at the Sorrento Hotel tonight, Nov 7., for Night School — a salon-type series organized at the First Hill boutique hotel. The event happens at 8 p.m. and tickets are $15.
Dawson's new album "Thunder Thighs" was recently favorably reviewed by Jessica Hopper for NPR. Check her heart-baring folk style welded to hip-hop, above, in a track from the album featuring New York/San Francisco* indie rapper/producer Aesop Rock.
Also, check two dream hampton articles I've read recently and recommend, originally published in "The Source" and Village Voice: her wild experience of hanging with Snoop Dogg in 1993, and a 2006 obituary for Seattle sci-fi writer Octavia Butler.
