SXSW 2010 post #17: Yelawolf video interview about how nobody is on the Internet in his hometown Gadsden, Alabama

Posted by Andrew Matson

Alabama rapper Yelawolf is riding high off the strength of his recent "Trunk Muzik" mixtape (easily Googleable, freely downloadable) and in the middle of a string of firecracker SXSW performances, stopped to talk with me about how people in his hometown Gadsden, Alabama, aren't on really on the Internet.

He and his crew told me they don't have a handle on "Trunk Muzik" download numbers so far, but I expect them to increase substantially once all these bloggers blog about him more than they already do (I saw Pitchfork writer Tom Breihan at Yelawolf's Fader Fort concert, and fully expect coverage on that tastemaking site soon).

Meanwhile, back home, Yelawolf says people are waiting for his CD to drop.
