How about some downbeat, lo-fi tropicalia from Seattle duo Flexions?

Gotta love a band that takes 100% unpredictable steps with its sound, and area duo Flexions is definitely that.

As we await the debut full-length album from Seattle's Past Lives, which is as unique a band as we have, consider the music of Flexions, which involves Devin Welch, the guitar player in Past Lives, and Robin Stein. Flexions' "Leisure Time" album came out in April, 2009.

"Over Tanned" from "Leisure Time" finds Flexions getting a little help from Tyler Swan and Shannon Perry. Its tropical style is a little bit SAD lamp, a little bit plain old sad. A little voice, a little guitar, a little Vox Percussion King.
