Matson on Music Block Party coverage plan
Posted by Andrew Matson
Tomorrow at 3:00, I'll be live on seattletimes.com for an hour, streaming video from Caffe Vita. The schedule:
3:00 Jason Dodson & co. from the Maldives play songs, shoot breeze
3:15 Morgan Henderson from Past Lives chats
3:30 Dave Meinert, CHBP honcho, checks in
3:45 They Live! and artists from Sportn Life records hold forth
It's a pre-game show, intended to be light. Micachu and The Shapes is supposed to stop by, as is Sonic Youth and Black Lips, but we'll see if those things actually materialize.
After that, I'll hit the festival with a team of geniuses. We'll have cameras, phones, and cameraphones, and be tweeting, writing, posting videos, and posting photos on this blog.
Also, The Seattle Times, Matson on Music, and KEXP 90.3 FM are co-presenting some intimate performances at an undisclosed location on the Block Party grounds. After you arrive at the festival, go to the KEXP booth for information. So far we've got Hey Marseilles, the Moondoggies, Truckasauras, and They Live! performing.
