Biggest hiphop battle of 2009: Clipse versus Jay-Z
Posted by Andrew Matson
Today the internet gives us "I'm Good" by Clipse featuring Pharrell.
It's classic Neptunes beat work, synth-ed out and blissful with kind of an uneasy feeling, like getting sick at a futuristic roller skating rink. I like how the Clipse guys just yell at you about how cool they are.
Fun fact: A Clipse interview/preview is the first thing I wrote for The Seattle Times. I was so excited to talk to Pusha, and two years later, I'd be just as excited now. I love Clipse a lot.
"I'm Good" will be on the forthcoming Clipse album "Til The Casket Drops" which comes out in September, the same month Jay-Z is planning to release his "Blueprint 3." I predict both albums drop on 9/11 and it's the biggest hiphop happening in all of 2009.
