No Age, The Bear, and the interview
Posted by Andrew Matson
Sub Pop and SIFF join forces Friday, when L.A. band No Age performs its score for 1988 movie The Bear downtown at Triple Door. The event is part of SIFF's Face the Music series.
Apparently the movie is largely dialogue-less and largely silent save for naturally sourced woodland sounds, so No Age should have plenty of space to explore. The band makes guitar-based art-noise, and its songs are short bursts of color and texture. Listen to "Eraser":
Hardly conventional movie score music. I'll interview band member Randy Randall tomorrow.
