Texas retook the lead in the seventh off Felix Hernandez, getting a leadoff single by David Murphy and then a one-out double down the right field line by Mitch Moreland to make it a 4-3 game.

The M's just went 1-2-3 against Arthur Rhodes in the eighth, going down on just four pitches.

So, they've got three outs to go against Neftali Feliz to try to spoil the sweep bid.

Felix Hernandez out after seven innings. Only two of the four runs he allowed were earned.

12:49 p.m.: Felix Hernandez is on a roll, retiring seven in a row to take a 3-3 game into the seventh inning. Seattle tied it up in the sixth when Milton Bradley lashed a first-pitch double and then Jack Cust a first-pitch single, both off C.J. Wilson.

Got to love the way the M's keep fighting back in this series. With Hernandez on the mound, they might be able to win one this time.

12:39 p.m.: Felix Hernandez is through five innings, trailing 3-2. No word yet on the Jack Wilson injury...if indeed there was one. But his replacement, Luis Rodriguez, is making the most of his playing time, helping to turn a double-play in the fourth inning, then doubled and scored a run in the fifth to narrow the Texas lead.

We'll keep you updated on Wilson. The M's have been in contact with GM Jack Zduriencik for an injury update and he's told them there is none. That could mean they're still checking him out. Or, that he was pulled from the game as punishment of sorts for the two errors. Seems rather harsh if that's the case.

11:56 a.m.: Jack Wilson saved the Mariners from a huge inning against the other night. But he owes Felix Hernandez a beer -- maybe a whole case of 'em -- after a forgettable second inning in which his two errors helped the Texas Rangers score three runs to take a 3-1 lead. Only one of the three runs was earned, but that will be of small consolation for Hernandez, now up to 45 pitches just two frames in.

Hernandez gave up a one-out single up the middle by David Murphy, then a line drive single to center from Yorvit Torrealba in the bottom of the second. The big plate appearance of the inning was an ensuing at-bat by Mitch Moreland that resulted in a walk to load the bases and set the stage for trouble.

And the trouble came just as Hernandez appeared to be out of it. Double-play machine Ian Kinsler hit one of those potential DPs to shortstop Brendan Ryan, who tossed it to Wilson, who...dropped the ball. Uh-oh. Yes, one run scored on the error and the bases were still loaded with one out.

No problem says Hernandez, who got Elvis Andrus to his a DP grounder to Ryan, who flipped to Wilson, who -- after getting one out this time -- got taken out by a slide as he heaved the ball to first base. The ball, unfortunately, went nowhere near first base. Two runs scored on Wilson's second error of the inning.

Hernandez finally got out of it with a strikeout on Josh Hamilton. But he's in pitch-count and scoreboard trouble.

Seattle took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second as Jack Cust singled to right and then, with one out, went to third went shortstop Elvis Andrus failed to corral a Jack Wilson smash. The play was ruled an error.

Brendan Ryan came up and delivered the sac fly to left.

11:27 a.m.: The odds of Felix Hernandez throwing a second complete game just took a serious blow one batter into the game. Ian Kinsler managed to work a 10-pitch walk off Hernandez, who was having trouble locating his fastball. Hernandez went on to throw 24 pitches in the inning, getting a nice fielding play and throw from Chone Figgins at third for one out, walking another batter, then striking out Adrian Beltre in the key at-bat with two on.

Michael Young grounded into a fielder's choice to end the threat. Scoreless after one.

11:04 a.m.: Felix Hernandez tries to make it 2-0 to start the season. The Mariners will try to make it 3-3 for their season-opening road trip, which would rate as somewhat of a pleasant surprise.
