Around the Blogosphere

BREAKING NEWS 8:55 a.m.: My sources tell me Ken Griffey Jr. will be named a special consultant to the M's today. No specific area of expertise. He'll be involved in several areas. Expect an announcement today.
We're about to head on to the field for the second day of workouts and third day of Mariners camp for pitchers and catchers.
Today's rapid-fire look around the Mariners blogosphere finds an interesting item by a new ProBall NW writer who looks at how "economists" are maximizing production for value on major league baseball teams.
Over at Prospect Insider, Jason Churchill has a rundown of who he forecasts to make the M's opening day roster.
There are a couple of interesting names on Churchill's list. I don't agree with all of it, but I do concur with most of it.
Lookout Landing gives us something to chuckle about with a photo-essay look at the "evolution" behind Felix Hernandez and his hairstyles.
Finally, over at SoDo Mojo, there's an interesting post about the "Five Myths" of spring training.
Here's one myth: that baseball writers just have to write one story for the newspaper and then head out to the golf course.
Well, actually, it used to be that way until about five years ago.
Now, we have the internet. And blogs. And fans are the better for it. Our golf games? Not so much.
