Final: Mariners 3, Indians 0

3:31 p.m.: David Aardsma on to pitch the ninth for the M's.

3:06 p.m.: That's another strikeout for Hernandez to end an inning. He's over 100 pitches through seven innings.

2:49 p.m.: Russell Branyan just hit one out to right field. It's 2-0 Mariners in the bottom of the sixth.

2:46 p.m.: Hernandez has now ended five of the first six innings with strikeouts. He's fanned Travis Hafner three times.

2:33 p.m.: There was an interesting play at second base in the fifth. Ichiro hit what became a single up the middle with Josh Wilson on first and two outs. Shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera came up with the ball and it looked like his foot caught second base, but second-base umpire Hunter Wendelstedt called Wilson safe at second.

It was hard to tell if Cabrera caught the ball and tagged the base at the same time, but Cabrera argued the call and Indians manager Manny Acta came out to plead his case. Eventually he was ejected for the second time this season, the fourth time in his career.

2:05 p.m.: Hernandez dials up two more strikeouts in the fourth. He's got seven so far.

1:59 p.m.: Figgins picked up a one-out single in the third. He stole second and then tried to catch the Indians by surprise, sprinting for third, while pitcher Jeanmar Gomez wasn't looking. He was thrown out and the M's come away empty in the inning.

1:49 p.m.: The Indians pick up their first hit of the game, a one-out single from Luis Valbuena down the left-field line past Jose Lopez, who was diving to his right.

Chris Gimenez was the next batter and he hit a grounder to Lopez, who threw to second and Chone Figgins couldn't handle it. The error put runners on first and second, but Hernandez got out of trouble and kept Cleveland off the scoreboard.

1:41 p.m.: Mariners pick up a run in the second. With Casey Kotchman on third and Adam Moore on first with one out, Michael Saunders hit a ground ball to second base. The Indians couldn't turn the double play, allowing Kotchman to score.

1:31 p.m.: Hernandez strikes out the side in the second. That's four straight strikeouts for Seattle's ace.

1:23 p.m.: Ichiro hit a leadoff single in the bottom of the first. He also stole second with two outs, but the Mariners don't pick up any runs.

1:14 p.m.: Felix Hernandez retires the Indians in order in the first. He got Michael Brantley to lift a fly ball to center field, nonchalantly caught Asdrubal Cabrera's line drive right at him and struck out Shin-Soo Choo to end the inning.

12:53 p.m.: It's a chilly and overcast Sunday afternoon here at Safeco Field. The Mariners send out ace Felix Hernandez (10-10, 2.38 ERA). Jeanmar Gomez (3-2, 3.08 ERA) gets the start for Cleveland.

Michael Saunders starts in center field again, while Franklin Gutierrez gets another day off due to illness.
