Mike Carp, Jason Vargas promoted by Mariners; Adrian Beltre activated off DL
Posted by Geoff Baker
The Mariners have begun their September callups, bringing up first baseman Mike Carp and lefthanded pitcher Jason Vargas from Class AAA Tacoma. The team is by no means finished adding, but the AAA season is still going on.
Carp was a no-brainer, given the injury to first baseman Russell Branyan.
Adrian Beltre comes off the DL tonight for the first time since his testicle injury.
