It's official: Bedard on DL, and today's lineups

Posted by Larry Stone

Erik Bedard, who missed his last start with shoulder inflammation has been placed on the disabled list retroactive to June 7. He was scratched from his scheduled start last Saturday, but was initially expected to return to the rotation this Friday. That date was pushed back to Saturday, but after undergoing a throwing session here in San Diego on Tuesday, Bedard apparently felt more discomfort. He is eligible to come off thte DL June 23.

As I reported earlier, Mike Carp is here from Tacoma and has been activated. He will start at first base tomorrow when Russ Branyan leaves to attend his grandfather's funeral.

I'll have more as it develops. Commence with the wailing.

Mariners

Ichiro RF
Russ Branyan 1B
Adrian Beltre 3B
Ken Griffey Jr. LF
Jose Lopez 2B
Yuniesky Betancourt SS
Jamie Burke C
Franklin Gutierrez CF
Garrett Olson P
