Kenji Johjima out with broken toe

Yes, that's right. The only guy to produce a run for the Mariners today is about to go on the DL with a broken toe. Yes, he hit his second inning home run with the toe busted.

First Kirk Gibson in the 1988 World Series and now this. Will the walking wounded never cease inflicting torture on the poor Athletics? Ok, maybe that's a stretch.

No, Jeff Clement is not a replacement option at this time. The team is still mulling it all over.
