Mariners new TV ads include two worth remembering
They're not exactly Edgar Martinez's classic Safeco Field clapper commercial, but the Mariners' 2010 TV advertising campaign includes two spots likely to make you smile.
They're not exactly Edgar Martinez's classic Safeco Field clapper commercial, but the Mariners' 2010 TV advertising campaign includes two spots likely to make you smile.
Five 30-second ads debut Wednesday during the Mariners' Cactus League game at 7:05 p.m. on FSN. The campaigns have become an annual rite of spring for Seattle baseball fans since 1994.
"Meaningful Moments" features Ken Griffey Jr. having a heart-to-heart with Ichiro, but Griffey can't resist a practical joke that leaves his teammate screaming in his seat.
"Running Catch" has center fielder Franklin Gutierrez on the golf course shagging tee shots for general manager Jack Zduriencik and manager Don Wakamatsu. Jack Z's deadpan delivery is spot on.
Felix Hernandez, Cliff Lee, Ryan Rowland-Smith and David Aardsma are featured in other ads.
