Mariners agree to trade Brandon Morrow to Toronto
Mariners pitcher Brandon Morrow will fly to Florida for a physical after the team agreed to trade the right-hander to Toronto for reliever Brandon League and a minor leaguer.

The Mariners reached an agreement to trade pitcher Brandon Morrow to the Toronto Blue Jays for reliever Brandon League and an unnamed minor leaguer.
Mariners pitcher Brandon Morrow is off to Florida for a physical on Tuesday ahead of a deal that will send him to the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Mariners have agreed to send Morrow to Toronto in exchange for sinkerballing reliever Brandon League and a prospect whose identity was not yet known. League will fly to Seattle on Tuesday for his physical.
Morrow said Monday night that he'd yet to be contacted by the Mariners to be told he's been traded, but a source later confirmed he'd be heading from Arizona on a midmorning flight to Toronto's spring-training facility near Tampa for a physical.
"I've been getting a bunch of texts and calls from people telling me about the Internet stuff," Morrow said. "But that's all I've heard."
The deal was first reported by Fox Sports.
Morrow, 25, was taken with the team's first pick in the 2006 June draft and spent most of his first two seasons in the bullpen. He began last season as the team's closer but switched to a starting role midsummer, with most of that work coming at Class AAA.
League, 26, is a onetime Toronto closer candidate, but never lived up the billing that first surrounded him when he broke into the majors in 2004. The right-hander, who was raised in Hawaii, went 3-6 with a 4.58 earned-run average in 67 appearances last season and has an impressively high career ground-ball rate of 62 percent.
As for the mystery prospect, it's highly unlikely to be Brett Wallace, the third baseman Toronto acquired from the Oakland A's for outfielder Michael Taylor as part of the multi-team Cliff Lee-Roy Halladay deals last week. The Blue Jays originally drafted Wallace and have coveted him for some time.
But Morrow's first-round draft status would suggest the prospect the Mariners receive in return will be of the higher-end variety.
