Mariners decide not to offer contract to Ryan Langerhans

Outfielder Ryan Langerhans is a free agent after Mariners decide not to offer him a contract for 2010 season.

The Mariners decided not to tender a 2010 contract to outfielder Ryan Langerhans, making him a free agent.

Langerhans was one of five Mariners who were eligible for arbitration. Saturday was the deadline for teams to make contract offers to players on the 40-man roster who were not already under contract for next season. Arbitration-eligible players can agree to the contract offer or go to arbitration.

The Mariners' other arbitration-eligible players were Felix Hernandez, Franklin Gutierrez, Mark Lowe and David Aardsma.

Langerhans, 29, hit .235 with three home runs in 38 games for the Mariners last season.
