Pacific Coast League | Tacoma Rainiers fall to Portland, 8-4

A three-run ninth inning by Portland helped the Beavers pull away to beat Tacoma in a Pacific Coast League game.

TACOMA — Matt Antonelli's two-run triple keyed a three-run ninth inning by Portland as the Beavers pulled away to beat Tacoma 8-4 Friday night in a Pacific Coast League game before 8,522 at Cheney Stadium.

Bryan LaHair and Brad Nelson hit solo home runs for Tacoma (38-42).

Rainiers starter Andrew Baldwin (5-6) gave up five runs (three earned) in eight innings.

AquaSox rally, win

EUGENE, Ore. — Anthony Phillips hit a two-run single in the top of the ninth inning as the Everett AquaSox rallied for a 4-3 Northwest League baseball victory over Eugene.

Bradley Reid (1-0) of Federal Way's Decatur High School and Bellevue Community College pitched a scoreless eighth to earn the victory in relief. Daniel Cooper tossed a one-two-three ninth for his third save this season.

Juan Fuentes had an RBI double for Everett (8-6).
