TACOMA — Alex Romero doubled in the go-ahead run in the fifth inning, and the Reno Aces earned a 2-1 victory over the Tacoma Rainiers before 6,220 in a Pacific Coast League game Saturday night.
Mariners catcher Kenji Johjima went 1 for 2. In his first professional plate appearance since breaking his toe during a collision on May 26, Johjima hit a soft line drive to left field off Aces starter Cesar Valdez. Johjima also caught four innings behind the plate.
Bryan LaHair tripled in Mike Morse, who singled to start the fifth inning, for Tacoma's run.

Kalian Sams hit a three-run homer and Ryan Royster was 4 for 5 with three runs batted in as the AquaSox crushed the Canadians. Fred Bello hit two doubles and walked twice. The AquaSox got 16 total hits.
