Pacific Coast League | Rainiers' Ryan Rowland-Smith takes 5-3 loss
Portland scored all its runs off Ryan Rowland-Smith in a 5-3 Pacific Coast League win over Tacoma
PORTLAND — Ryan Rowland-Smith had another rocky outing, allowing all the Portland runs in a 5-3 Pacific Coast League victory over the Tacoma Rainiers on Wednesday night at PGE Park.
Rowland-Smith (1-3), rehabbing with the AAA Rainiers after suffering tendinitis in his left triceps pitching for the Mariners, gave up nine hits in 6-1/3 innings. The Australian left-hander has a 6.92 earned-run average at Tacoma.
The Rainiers wasted a 3-for-3 game by third baseman Chris Shelton, who doubled, homered and drove in two runs.
