TACOMA — Jeff Clement and Mike Carp each doubled, homered and had four hits as the Tacoma Rainiers pounded Salt Lake 14-0 in a Pacific Coast League game Friday night.

Clement's 4-for-4 night lifted the catcher's average from .175 to .250. Bryan LaHair added a three-run homer for the Rainiers (9-7), who thumped 19 hits.

Left-hander Jason Vargas (1-1) struck out eight, walked one and allowed three hits in six innings to earn the victory.
