TACOMA — Brandon Morrow pitched six scoreless innings Sunday to lead the Rainiers to a 5-1 win against the Portland Beavers (70-73) in a Pacific Coast League game. The right-hander struck out five and walked three. Morrow (1-2), the Mariners closer earlier in 2008, was sent to Tacoma to work on becoming a starter.
