TACOMA — Wes Bankston tripled, homered and drove in three runs to help Sacramento beat the Tacoma Rainiers 8-6 in a Pacific Coast League game before 4,529 at Cheney Stadium on Thursday night.
The Rainiers were scoreless through seven innings. They finally broke through in the eighth when Craig Wilson hit a two-run double and scored on Rob Johnson's two-out single. In the ninth, Matt Tuiasosopo belted a three-run homer for Tacoma (76-63). It was Tuiasosopo's 13th homer.
Right-hander Rich Dorman (2-4) started and took the loss, allowing eight hits and five runs. River Cats left-hander Josh Outman (1-0) pitched into the sixth inning for the win.
