Manelik Pimentel's hit pushes Everett past Vancouver

Manelik Pimentel snapped a 2-2 tie with a two-run double, and the Everett AquaSox went on to beat Vancouver 6-4 in a Northwest League game...

EVERETT — Manelik Pimentel snapped a 2-2 tie with a two-run double, and the Everett AquaSox went on to beat Vancouver 6-4 in a Northwest League game Monday night at Everett Memorial Stadium.

Pimentel's big hit capped a four-run fifth inning by the AquaSox (18-29) that also featured a run-scoring bunt single by Luis Nunez.

Everett relievers Philip Hann (1-3), Javier Martinez and Eddy Fernandez combined to hold the Canadians to one earned run in 4-1/3 innings.

Fernandez, a left-hander from the Dominican Republic, retired all three batters he faced, two on strikeouts, for his first save.
