TACOMA — Wladimir Balentien hit three home runs to pace a torrid Tacoma offensive attack, and the Rainiers defeated the New Orleans Zephyrs 15-9 in Pacific Coast League action on Monday night at Cheney Stadium.

A three-run eighth inning got the Zephyrs within 11-9, but the Rainiers scored four runs — including an inside-the-park homer by Balentien — in the bottom of the frame to put the game away.

Balentien was 3 for 6 with five runs batted in, while Bryan LaHair and Charlton Jimerson also homered for Tacoma.

Robert Rohrbaugh (3-1) picked up the victory, allowing four runs on nine hits in 5-2/3 innings.
