TUCSON, Ariz. — The Tucson Sidewinders shut out Tacoma 4-0 Sunday afternoon at Tucson Electric Park. Four pitchers contributed to the three-hit shutout and didn't allow a hit until the fifth inning.
Right-hander Chris Kinsey started the game, going 3-1/3 hitless innings and walking three batters. Cody Evans, who replaced Kinsey in the fourth inning, got his first win in a Sidewinders' uniform. He allowed two hits, two walks and struck out three in 3-2/3 innings.
Tucson's Jalien Peguero and Leo Rosales closed it out for the Sidewinders, going a combined two innings.
Tucson scored all four runs in the seventh. Emilio Bonifacio and Tim Raines Jr. had RBI singles. Trot Nixon hit a two-run double.
R.A. Dickey took the loss for Tacoma, allowing 11 hits and two earned runs in seven innings.
