Rainiers fall to Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Miguel Asencio pitched six solid innings as Colorado Springs held off visiting Tacoma, 4-3, on Sunday.

Asencio (4-3) allowed two runs on six hits. He struck out six, walked three and yielded both runs in the sixth on a wild pitch and a passed ball.

Randy Williams followed with two hitless frames and Nate Field recorded his 10th save after allowing a solo homer to Scott Youngbauer in the ninth.

Jeff Salazar went 3 for 4 and scored twice for the Sky Sox, who snapped a three-game losing streak.

Youngbauer went 2 for 4 for Tacoma (28-27), which had a three-game winning streak snapped.

Tacoma's Bobby Livingston (1-4) allowed three runs on nine hits over six innings.
