Rainiers shut down by Zephyrs

NEW ORLEANS — Chad Durbin allowed two hits over seven scoreless innings as the New Orleans Zephyrs beat the Tacoma Rainiers 4-1 yesterday in a Pacific Coast League baseball game.

Durbin (3-4) retired the final 13 batters he faced.

Travis Hughes yielded a run on two hits over the final two innings to record his 10th save.

Chris Buglovsky (3-3) took the loss for Tacoma (62-52), giving up four runs on six hits in 7-1/3 innings.

Aaron Rifkin drove in the Rainiers' run.
