Tacoma ekes by Salt Lake

TACOMA — Jorge Campillo pitched 7-1/3 scoreless innings yesterday to outduel Corey Lee and lead the Tacoma Rainiers past the Salt Lake Stingers 1-0 in a Pacific Coast League game.

Campillo (2-1) allowed six hits, walked none and struck out five.

George Sherrill pitched the final 1-2/3 innings to pick up his fifth save.

The Rainiers scored the game's only run on a couple of misplays in the fourth inning.

After a leadoff walk by Ryan Christianson, Aaron Rifkin reached on an error by third baseman Adam Pavkovich. Mike Morse bunted the runners over, but Christianson was picked off third base. Rifkin promptly stole third and came around to score when shortstop Casey Smith failed to make the catch.

Tacoma won its third straight game to reach .500 at 15-15.
