An enthusiastic crowd of more than 1,000 cheered GOP presidential contender Ron Paul at his Thursday night appearance at a SeaTac hotel.

An enthusiastic crowd of more than 1,000 cheered GOP presidential contender Ron Paul at his Thursday night appearance at a SeaTac hotel.
The crowd was on its feet for most of his 40-minute speech, chanting his name or responses to his peace and freedom themes. When he criticized sending soldiers to Afghanistan, the crowd chanted "Bring them home!"
The Texas congressman called for less government and more individual liberty.
Paul spoke earlier in Vancouver and has appearances Friday in the Tri-Cities and Spokane. He hopes to win the straw poll in Washington's March 3 caucuses. In the 2008 caucus, Paul finished third with 21 percent, trailing John McCain and Mike Huckabee.
