Obama to visit Boeing's Everett plant and attend fundraisers
President Obama will visit the Boeing plant in Everett on Friday, where he will discuss manufacturing and promoting American exports.
President Obama will visit the Boeing plant in Everett on Friday as part of his trip to the Seattle area.
The White House says he will discuss the economy, manufacturing and the importance of promoting American exports — themes he struck in his State of the Union speech last month.
Obama's campaign previously announced that he also would attend two political fundraisers while in the area.
The first is a $17,900-per-person brunch at the Medina home of Jeff and Susan Brotman.
The Brotmans are longtime Democratic patrons. He is best known as co-founder of Costco Wholesale; she is a former Nordstrom executive active in philanthropy.
The brunch will be followed by a $1,000-a-person fundraising lunch at the Bellevue Westin. Donors can pay $5,000 for a photo reception with the president. Local indie-folk band The Head and the Heart will perform at the Bellevue luncheon.
The money raised by the events will be divided between Obama's re-election campaign and the Democratic National Committee.
The Puget Sound stop is part of a three-day trip by Obama to Wisconsin, California and Washington.
